Upon arrival at Leh airport, you’ll be welcomed and transferred to your hotel for acclimatization. In the afternoon, take a gentle walk through the old Leh town, visiting Shanti Stupa, Leh Palace, and the bustling Main Bazaar. End the day with a calming visit to Spituk Monastery, perched on a hilltop and offering panoramic views of the Indus Valley. Overnight stay in Leh.
Today, your adventure begins with a drive over Khardung La, one of the highest motorable passes in the world. Descending into the enchanting Nubra Valley, you’ll witness vast landscapes flanked by snow-clad peaks. Visit Diskit Monastery, home to a grand Maitreya Buddha statue and breathtaking views. In the evening, enjoy a camel ride on the cold desert dunes of Hunder, followed by a cozy dinner and overnight stay in a Nubra homestay or camp.
Start the day with a peaceful drive to Sumur village, located on the opposite side of the Shyok River. Visit the serene Samstanling Monastery, known for its vibrant colors, prayer halls, and kind resident monks. You’ll have time to walk around the village, interact with locals, or simply meditate in the calm. Return to Hunder or stay in Sumur for an authentic Ladakhi village experience. Overnight stay in Nubra.
An early start takes you on an adventurous drive along the dramatic Shyok River route, connecting Nubra to Pangong Lake. The route is raw and beautiful, passing through river valleys, gorges, and barren wilderness. By afternoon, you’ll reach the stunning Pangong Lake (4,350 m), famous for its ever-changing blue shades and spiritual energy. Spend your evening walking along the lake’s shore or sitting in quiet contemplation. Overnight in a lakeside camp or eco-resort.
Wake up early to experience the magical sunrise over Pangong. After breakfast, begin your journey back to Leh via the scenic Chang La Pass, the third highest motorable road in the world. En route, stop at Hemis Monastery, the largest and richest monastery in Ladakh, for a spiritual pause. Reach Leh by evening and enjoy a relaxed farewell dinner. Overnight stay in Leh.
